With the release of the album, Ariana made it very clear she wanted to focus on herself versus the stereotypical topic of love, and the choice is heard in her songs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Her more popular songs, such as \u201cThank U, Next\u201d and \u201c7 Rings\u201d put an emphasis on Ariana\u2019s independence, capturing the essence of self-worth and importance in loving yourself before someone else. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While her tune with a title almost as long as the song itself, \u201cBreak up with your girlfriend, I\u2019m bored\u201d, stirred a bit of controversy, let\u2019s get real: rappers have been creating flows around the concept of stealing girlfriends since the genre was created. The song is impeccably catchy and doesn\u2019t contain any motives we haven\u2019t heard a thousand times before.<\/span><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-10229 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/di.owensboro.kyschools.us\/digitaldevil\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Screen-Shot-2019-02-19-at-10.35.03-AM.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"323\" height=\"323\" srcset=\"https:\/\/digitaldevil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Screen-Shot-2019-02-19-at-10.35.03-AM.png 336w, https:\/\/digitaldevil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Screen-Shot-2019-02-19-at-10.35.03-AM-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/digitaldevil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Screen-Shot-2019-02-19-at-10.35.03-AM-144x144.png 144w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 323px) 100vw, 323px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On a more somber note, Ariana takes things slow on tracks like \u201cNASA\u201d and \u201cghostin,&#8221; perfect when you\u2019re in the mood for a slow jam. While it\u2019s a change of pace from the bubbly pop-star\u2019s signature sound, the melancholy of the melodies inspire feelings of the past. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All in all, the album is high-spirited, exuberant, and shows a side of Ariana that\u2019s more open and free than ever before.
