One month. That\u2019s it. That\u2019s all I and my fellow seniors have left to be Owensboro Red Devils. Some of us have been a part of this school system from kindergarten, some joined later, but we all love OHS the same. For me, OHS has been the place of my development not only as a student but also as a person. And for that, I\u2019ll always remember Owensboro High School. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019ll always\nremember the vast amount of support I received from teachers and guidance\ncounselors. In each class, the teachers truly want their students to succeed.\nAP classes require so much preparation, but I haven\u2019t walked into the central\noffice for an AP test once without feeling ready, and I owe that to OHS\u2019s\nteachers. As a senior, I was required to take part in the extensive process of\ncollege applications and scholarships. It\u2019s truly overwhelming, but Mrs. Rice\nand Mrs. Fogle work tirelessly to ease to process. In such a stressful time, I\nfound comfort in the support of the OHS staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019ll always\nremember the friends that I made here at OHS. Our school is unique in its\ndiversity and general feeling of acceptance. Coming in as a freshman, it may\nseem intimidating initially, but soon you realize everyone is just like you. Therefore,\nit was easy to make friends. At OHS, I have gained friends for life: the kinds\nof friends that I\u2019ll keep in touch with, no matter how long it\u2019s been or how\nfar apart we are. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019ll always\nremember the soccer at OHS. I\u2019ve played soccer my whole life, but nothing compared\nto walking onto Shively\u2019s turf field just as sunset hits, looking into the\nstands and seeing supporters from OHS. Playing on club teams, I made friends,\nbut with OHS, my teammates were family. I looked forward to every practice and\nevery game not only because I love the game, but because I enjoyed hanging out\nwith the team. I\u2019m going to miss it like crazy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Finally, graduation\nis a bittersweet occasion: it\u2019s sad to leave the school and the city of\nOwensboro, but I\u2019m so excited to attend college and further my education. I am\nwho I am because of Owensboro High School, so it will always be a part of me.\nWhether I am at the University of Kentucky or starting a new job, I can always credit\nmy successes to OHS. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
