During the holiday season, we look forward to the Christmas classics and music to bring us cheer! Here are some movie suggestions to help you get into the holiday spirit. 

National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (1989) – This is a perfect movie to watch for the holiday season. It follows Clark Griswold who is trying to make the perfect Christmas for his family. You can stream this on HBO Max and Prime Video.

Elf (2003) – Buddy the Elf, who was accidentally taken to the north pole and raised by elves, goes to New York to search for his father. This is on HBO Max and Prime Video.

Eloise At Christmastime (2003) – Young Eloise is raised in an apartment building with her Nanny. When she gets spy gear for Christmas she tries to reunite a young woman with a former boyfriend before she marries another. Only on Prime Video.

Christmas with the Kranks (2004) – The film tells of a couple who decide to skip Christmas one year since their daughter is away, much to the chagrin of their neighbors until their daughter decides to come home at the last minute. On Prime Video for free.

A Christmas Story (1983) – All Ralphie wants for Christmas is a Red Ryder Range BB Gun and he spends his holidays convincing everyone he should get it. Can be found on HBO Max and Prime Video.

The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993) – When Jack, the Pumpkin King, gets a glimpse of Christmas Town, he decides he needs to take Christmas for themselves. This movie can be streamed on Disney Plus and Prime Video.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000) and (2018) (cartoon AND live-action version) – The Grinch plots to take Christmas from the Who’s but when he does he learns a lesson. The cartoon can be found on Peacock and the live-action on HBO Max.

A Christmas Carol (2009) – Scrooge gets a visit from the Ghosts of Christmas past, present, and future, and learns an important lesson on the meaning of Christmas. You can stream this on Disney Plus and Prime Video.

Home Alone (1990) – When Kevin gets left at home by himself for Christmas, he has to defend his house from burglars. Everyone knows this movie and it’s a must watch. This movie can be found on Disney Plus and Prime Video.


The Polar Express (2004) – When a doubting young boy takes a train ride to the North Pole, he goes on a journey of self-discovery that shows him that the wonder of life never fades for those who believe. A wonderful movie. This movie can be found on HBO Max and Prime Video.
