Black History: Impact

The Civil Rights Movement was a pivotal moment in American history. The Civil Rights Movement lasted from 1954 to 1968. The starting point of the Civil Rights Movement is very debated, whether it was because of Emmett Till’s murder, the Montgomery Bus Boycott, or the Brown v. Board of Education. Regardless, this was one of the most influential moments in American history and a lot was achieved. 

Contributions to the Civil Rights Movement were essential, whether they were big or small. The events of the Civil Rights Movement varied from sit-ins, speeches, boycotts, integrations, and protests. The decline of the Movement occurred when the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965 passed, as well as Martin Luther King Jr.’s death in 1968. What occurred during this time, however, undeniably spawned a revolution for change in this country that continues to this day.
