Cascading Communication: 2023 OHS Honors Night

Why:
Information regarding 2023 OHS Honors Night on Wednesday, May 17
Who:
OHS teachers and staff
What:
- Honors Night is a celebration of our students’ achievements at OHS and in the community.
- Certificates for each award will be professionally printed. Departments are NOT responsible for designing or printing award certificates.
- A representative from each department must be present at the Honors Night ceremony to present their departmental awards.
- Mr. Hume will be the Master of Ceremonies for Honors Night.
- Awards are presented to students alphabetically.
- Students will receive their individual awards from the departmental representative, pause for a photo opportunity in front of the podium, and then proceed to shake hands with members of the Board of Education.
- Staff members presenting awards for their department should know their award recipients in order to be “on-deck” to keep the program moving. The “on-deck” area will be in the end zone closest to the cafeteria. Two presenters should be “on-deck” at all times. Ms. Fogle will hand presenters their awards while “on-deck.”
When:
- Departmental awards and recipients must be submitted to Pat Hume by Thursday, April 27, 2023.
- The 2023 OHS Honors Night will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at 7:00pm.
Where:
- The Honors Night ceremony will be held in the North Gym.
- OHS staff will have reserved seating in the floor level bleachers on the visitor’s side of the North Gym.
Other Information:
- Dress is business casual for presenters.
- Students receiving awards and their parents will receive invitations to attend Honors Night.
- A reception will be held following the Honors Night ceremony in the concession area between the North Gym and cafeteria. Cookies and punch will be provided.
