Starting this coming Monday, March 18, Owensboro Public Schools will be celebrating its 25th Anniversary of Excellence with the Fine Arts Festival at the RiverPark Center. The OPS Fine Arts Festival will run through March 28, and will feature outstanding art and performances from our Owensboro High School Bands, Choir, Orchestra, Theater, and Dance, as well as other acts from OPS. 

On March 18th, the OHS Band will be performing a selection of songs, including “Among the Clouds” starting at 7:00 PM. Tuesday, March 19th is choir night with OHS Choir will be singing an array of songs including “The Drinking Gourd”. Elementary school performances will begin at 6:00 PM with middle and high school performances starting at 7:30 PM. The OHS Orchestra will be performing on Wednesday, March 20th at 7:00 PM.

There will then be a break in the action with the festival resuming on March 26 with theatre night. The Rose Curtain Players will be performing some twisted tales from Edgar Allan Poe, including “The Lottery” and “The Tell-Tale Heart”, with the curtain going up at 7:00 PM. Wednesday, March 27th is our dance night and will include a dance called “Champion”. Elementary school performances will start at 6:00 PM with middle and high school performances beginning at 7:30 PM.

Gorgeous and stunning art will be on display in the Visual Art Gallery in the RiverPark Center Lobby from March 18th-27th. And finally, the festival will put a bow on this 25th year celebration up with Prism on Thursday, March 28. Prism will be a school day event to show the array of talent that resides right here in Owensboro, KY.
