Addiction is the fact or condition of being addicted to a particular substance, thing, or activity. Most people don’t realize they are addicted to something until they are told, or it gets out of hand and spirals to something worse. But having an addiction isn’t always a bad thing.

Having a “good” addiction is what people should strive for, like taking a shower daily or working out every day. These are commonly referred to has positive habits and are desirable. But some have bad addictions, addictions to drugs or substances or something else negative, and those have negative results almost 100% of the time. According to the NCDAS (National Center for Drug Abuse Statistics), “50% of teenagers have misused a drug at least once”, meaning that half of teenagers have misused a drug. All addictions start with a first. Don’t let drugs be yours.

Once identifying an addiction, make sure you take the steps to identify whether or not it is a good or bad thing. Your health should be the first priority when considering positives and negatives, but also how your habit affects the ones around your. Don’t let bad addictions start folks, be sure to let the good ones thrive, and you’ll be well on your way to success.
