Basketball Wrap Up: The Dark Horse

In the beginning of the preseason, the Red Devils were projected to finish third in the district In the face of the doubters, the Red Devils played their heart out day in and day out.

According to Josh Moore’s article on Kentucky.com, the Owensboro Red Devils were projected to finish fourth in the region, underneath Breckinridge County, Owensboro Catholic, and Daviess County.

Boy, he was wrong.

The Owensboro Red Devils finished 23-8 in the season, 17-0 in the region, and 6-0 in the district. Key wins include 71-57 W vs. Madisonville-North Hopkins, 67-55 W vs. Bosse, 73-65 W vs. Bowling Green, and two wins vs. Breckinridge County.

Even though our season didn’t end the way everyone wanted, our fans couldn’t be more proud of our over-achieving, tenacious team.
