On March 27th, the Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo 3DS eShops are closing with some content being lost forever. Now barely anyone owns a Wii U, so not many people will know of this, but a lot own the 3DS and have already lost credit card and eCard functionality as a result. Now you cannot add funds directly to the shop, but there is a way to still get funds. Here is a video explaining how:

I don’t have a ton of experience with the games on the eShops because I barely bought things from these sources. But here are a few things to note:

  1. Virtual Console: This is the way to play old games on Nintendo consoles. These are the last two consoles to have it and the Switch doesn’t have DS or Wii games yet.
  2. DLC (downloadable content) for some games will be lost forever, granted most of it is preserved due to the switch ports, but still, it’s worth noting.

So there’s your final warning, as these eShops will be gone forever come Monday morning.
