Coming off of a three game winning streak, the Devils were determined to defeat the Madisonville Maroons on Tuesday, September 4th.

The Devils knew it would be a close game, as Madisonville is a worthy opponent each year. Owensboro started with four defenders in the back to prepare for the attacking power of Madisonville.

The first half was dominated by Madisonville as they had the majority of the possession. They seemed to be the more aggressive team, pushing for every loose ball. Madisonville drove a header into the net off of a corner kick, ending the first half 1-0.

In the second half, the Devils came out with strength and energy, dominating the turf with possession. Owensboro changed to three in the back, allowing for more attacking power. Paxton Jenkins (11) was able to put in two goals, one coming off of an assist from Grayson McFarland (11). The game ended 2-1 for the Devils.

Next the Devils play Apollo and hope to redeem their loss to the Eagles at the beginning of the season. This would allow them to gain the two seed for the district tournament.
