Devils pay close attention to Coach Drake during their timeout.

The Owensboro Red Devils battled the Owensboro Catholic Aces for the second time this season at the Sportscenter. With another win versus Catholic at the Sportscenter, us at Owensboro have decided that playing at the Sportscenter is like playing a home game.

Freshman Gavin Wimsatt led the scoring with 14 points and 5 blocks. He led the 35-21 2nd half comeback with 7 points in the 4th quarter. When asked about what generated the team’s comeback, Gavin said “We just settled down and played our game. We knew defense was going to be a big part in that so we just did what we had to.”

Junior Jaiden Greathouse had 11 points and 11 rebounds. Senior Darrion Wimsatt added 13 points. The Devils outscored the Aces 23-14 in the fourth quarter.

The Devils shot 12 out of 17 from the free throw line. They turned the ball over only 9 times and secured 28 rebounds.

After a win against Whitesville Trinity, the Owensboro Red Devils are currently 9-6, 6-0 in the region, and 4-0 in the district. Our boys battle Muhlenberg County at home on Friday, January 11th, 2019. The game is scheduled to start at 7:30 PM.
