On Tuesday, April 16th, the Owensboro boys baseball team took on the Apollo Aces at home.

The game started out slowly as neither team scored in the first two innings. In the third and fourth, Owensboro managed to score 1 in each inning, leaving the score at 2-0 starting the 5th inning.

The Devils put the game away, scoring 2 in both the 5th and 6th inning. Owensboro didn’t bat in the 7th, as they already had the lead. Apollo failed to gain any runs, finishing the game at 6-0.

Owensboro played a great game, achieving 9 total hits and restricting Apollo to only 2 hits. Runs came from Braxton French (11), Brennon Williams (12), Austin Gough (10), Eric Epperson (12), and Andrew Chancellor (11).

The Devils’ starting pitcher, Nick Belcher (11), gave the Aces 7 strikeouts, allowing only 1 hit in 5 innings.
