Two days after the heartbreaking loss to Daviess County, the OHS Men’s soccer team were still fatigued mentally and physically.

Fortunately, the Red Devils bounced back by defeating the Madison Central Indians 2-1 on Saturday, August 25th at Shively Park.

Senior Austin Sovar scored first on a penalty kick hitting the nylon in the top right corner. After asking Austin about his mindset when scoring penalty kicks, he said “At first it is nerve racking, having both teams and their fans watching you. You just have to relax and keep your focus on scoring.”

15 minutes into the second half, the Madison Central Indians evened the score.

With 4 minutes remaining to play, Junior Paxton Jenkins put the Red Devils over the Indians with a goal. Junior Grayson McFarland was credited with the assist.

OHS had 24 shots with 13 on goal. Goalkeeper Radley Worth had 8 saves.
