OHS Football Rolls Over Graves County for District Championship

Homecoming, senior night, and a district championship.

It was a successful night for the Red Devils after they clinched their fifth consecutive victory with a 47-6 beatdown of Graves County, clinching the Class 5-A District 1 title. 

With this win, the Red Devils have earned the possibility of home games in the first two rounds of the KHSAA playoffs.

OHS started the scoring frenzy with a 61-yard passing touchdown from Senior Will Warren to Junior Tyren Hayden. Grayson McFarland scored the PAT making the score 7-0.

6 minutes later, Senior Tre’Von Green broke loose for a 39-yard TD run to make the score 14-0.

Graves County’s only score the whole game occured with a goal line run making the score 14-6. The PAT was blocked.

Sophomore Austin Gough ran it in from 3-yards to make it 21-6. 

Junior Monte Owsley turned on the jets with a 60-yard touchdown, a 63-yard touchdown, and a 18-yard touchdown run. He led OHS with 148 yards on 4 carries with 3 touchdowns.

Owensboro allowed the clock to run after a 22-yard passing TD from Senior Will Warren to Sophomore Treyvon Tinsley.

OHS put the points on the board and had 389 yards of total offense. The Red Devil’s defense was successful as well, only allowing Graves County to 141 total yards of total offense and only 6 points. 

Other offensive stats include Junior Tyren Hayden with 6 receptions for 125 yards with a touchdown. Senior Tre’Von Green ran for 120 yards on 9 carries with a touchdown. Senior QB Will Warren finished 9-of-18 for 174 yards and two TDs. 

The Red Devils close out the regular season with a rival game @ Henderson County. Devil Train info will be released soon.
