On Wednesday, October 16th, Owensboro played the Ohio County Eagles in the Regional Semi-finals. The Devils had beaten Ohio County 6-0 earlier in the season, so they hoped not to underestimate the team. Coach Ryan Haley knew that they could be dangerous, so he warned his team to come out fast.

In the first half, the Devil’s came out strong and didn’t waste any times as Senior Austin Sovar scored early to put the Devils ahead. Also in the first half, Junior Andrew Saltsman scored to end the half 2-0.

Owensboro came out just as aggressive in the second half. Juniors Grayson McFarland and Paxton Jenkins both scored to make the final score 4-0.

Overall, the Devils controlled the game and dominated the pitch offensively and defensively. After the game, Senior William Clark commented, “I thought we played at the level that we expect our baseline performance to be. We played pretty good and finished our chances. We didn’t run up the score as we had hoped we would, but overall the team played very solid.

Winning the Semi-Finals, OHS went on to play Daviess County in the Championship game. This was played on Thursday, October 18th.
